According to the economist, the price should be between $1,250 and $1,350. He warned about the risks posed by the loss of competitiveness compared to Brazil.

The economist Miguel Ángel Brodaone of the figures most consulted by the financial markets, shared his vision on the exchange rate and Argentina’s economic prospects for 2025.

According to Broda, The best price for the official dollar, which would guarantee economic competitiveness, would be between $1,250 and $1,350within the framework of a progressive exchange rate unification and with the elimination of exchange controls.

In a radio interview, Broda indicated that the exchange rate correction will focus on a “coin competition”ruling out complete dollarization in the short term. This projected exchange rate is aligned with the idea of advancing economic reforms that generate confidence in the markets, minimizing a high inflationary impact derived from the exchange rate adjustment.

Reforms and future challenges

Broda stressed that, to achieve a more balanced and sustainable economy, it is necessary to consolidate a transparent exchange system and an independent Central Bank. He also noted that sectors such as Vaca Muerta and lithium exploitation could generate significant foreign exchange in the long term, although he admitted that in the short term it will be essential to have support from the IMF and renewed access to the international debt market.

The economist warned about the risks posed by the loss of competitiveness compared to Brazil, exacerbated by the recent devaluation of the real, and the growing spending on tourism by Argentines abroad. For Broda, fiscal stability in Brazil is key to avoiding additional negative impacts on the Argentine economy.

With a moderately optimistic vision, Broda, who spoke with the radio Ahora Play, maintained that an official dollar around $1,250/$1,350, accompanied by a gradual implementation of reforms, would allow Argentina to achieve greater economic stability in 2025, although he warned that Success will depend on maintaining credibility in public policies and meeting international commitments.
