Everything is part of an agreement signed between the environmental care and social reintegration cooperative of former cartoneros, Creating Awareness, the company TEXCOM -which is responsible for making the fabric for the team’s shirts-, and the Impulso y Encuentro Foundationwhich since 2019 has carried out actions aimed at the most vulnerable sectors of society.
Thus, TEXCOM makes leftover cuts and other materials available to Creando Conciencia, so that the cooperative is responsible for certifying traceability and final disposal in its Benavidez Productive Pole.
Then, after the process carried out in the plant where the waste delivered by TEXCOM will be chosen and recycled, these will be removed by the Impulso y Encuentro Foundation, which will make the various items it sells to support all its social and productive activities. Among other things, it produces bathroom mats, baskets and garlands.
This foundation is responsible for containing and documenting social realitygenerating study resources for their comprehensive development.
What is TEXCOM
TEXCOM, for its part, is dedicated to the development and sale of basic and differentiated knitted fabrics, based in the Buenos Aires town of Don Torcuato. This is the company in charge of manufacturing the shirts for 70% of Argentine soccer clubs, including River, Boca, Racing, Independiente, etc.
However, its activity transcends the sports field, as it has created innovative solutions in industrial safety. Among other things, its fireproof fabrics stand out, developed under strict regulatory standards, which protect Vaca Muerta workers.
What is Creating Awareness?
Creating Conscience is a cooperative of urban reclaimers (ex-cartoneros)located in the party of Tiger, which is dedicated to collecting, separating, classifying and recycling waste, with two main objectives, which are environmental care and labor reintegration.
It was born in 2006, due to the concern of some neighbors about the final disposal of garbage and the precarious working conditions of the cardboard collectors. Today, They already have 51 memberscollection contracts in several neighborhoods of Benavídez and Tigre and different companies.
