The mayor of San Rafael, Omar Félix, made a request for a State of Emergency for Real del Padre and Jaime Prats.
A fierce storm with hail that occurred last Monday in the towns of San Rafael, in the south of Mendoza, left heavy losses of up to 100%. They asked to declare a state of emergency in the areas most affected by the storm.
From General Alvear Agency of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), reported that there were great losses in the crop areas of the areas affected by the strong winds, hail and rain in the towns of Real del Padre, Punta de Agua and Jaime Prats. In addition, there were power and telecommunications outages, fallen trees and roofs were blown off, the municipality of San Rafael reported.
“The core area is the most affected and we have a significant area, especially in Real del Padre, with total damage of 100%. To address the damage and clear the roads, Civil Defense, Districts and Electrotechnics worked together with the Cecsagal Cooperative.
