Every January 8, thousands of devotees gather at the Gauchito Gil Sanctuary in Mercedes to pay tribute, fulfilling promises and thanking them for favors received. The day is marked by a series of religious and cultural events that keep local traditions alive.
Thousands of faithful from all over the country and neighboring countries came to Mercedes, Corrientesto participate in the celebrations in honor of the Gauchito Gil. The traditional night caravan was carried out at midnight of January 7marking the beginning of the central celebrations. This event, organized by the Ledezma Arce familybrought together hundreds of participants on a tour of the main streets of mercedes.
The starting point was corner of Juan Pujol and Paraísofrom where the caravan traveled through emblematic streets such as Chacabuco, San Martín, Plácido Martínez, Sarmientoand the roundabout.
