Dollar and inflation in 2025: the prognosis of entrepreneurs

In a context of economic and political changes, Argentine businessmen maintain moderate optimism regarding the evolution of the economy in 2025, although doubts about the profitability of their companies persist.

According to the latest Argentine Business Confidence Index, private sector leaders wait for a dollar to $ 1,336 and project a strong slowdown in inflation.

Forecasts on the dollar and inflation

One of the key points of the report is the estimation of entrepreneurs on the exchange rate and the progress of prices. As for the dollar, the consulted expect the official price to reach $ 1,336, which represents an increase of $ 184 compared to the forecast made in the previous report.

In parallel, the expected inflation by 2024 is 32%, which implies a significant fall of 68 percentage points compared to previous projections. This expectation responds to the adjustment and stabilization policies implemented by the government of Javier Milei, although there are still questions about the sustainability of this trend.

Economic and business expectations

The study revealed that 71% of entrepreneurs perceive that the economy improved during the last year, while 15% consider that it worsened and 14% believe it remained unchanged. Facing 2025, 83% trust an economic improvement, 14% foresee stability and only 3% anticipates deterioration.

In terms of billing, 73% of entrepreneurs estimate that their income will grow this year, while 21% foresee and 6% projects a fall. However, profitability generates uncertainty: 35% believe it will remain, another 35% expect it to decrease and only 30% anticipate an improvement.

Investments and Employment: Confidence despite uncertainty

51% of respondents plan to increase investment in fixed assets, 41% will keep it stable and 8% plan to reduce it. As for employment, 48% of entrepreneurs expect to expand their workforce, 44% will keep it without changes and 8% could reduce it.

Main challenges for companies

The increase in costs is the main concern of the sector, according to 29% of respondents. They are followed by the difficulty in finding and retaining talent (23%), financial problems (19%) and growth speed (14%).

The Argentine Entrepreneurship Confidence Index, which has been prepared since 2006, reflects the perception of the private sector on the course of the economy. The results of this edition show a mixed scenario: optimism in economic stability, but with doubts about the profitability and impact of government policies in the productive sector.
