Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin instructed to record and investigate the circumstances of the shelling of civilians in the city of Volnovakha in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). This is stated on March 1 in a message on the website of the department.
It is noted that information appeared in one of the Telegram channels that on March 1, Ukrainian nationalists shot civilians leaving Volnovakha.
“Fire was opened on civilians leaving the city with a white flag,” the UK stressed.
Bastrykin instructed the investigators of the central office to investigate what happened as part of the criminal case, recalling the need to promptly exchange information with law enforcement agencies of the DPR and LPR about crimes committed by Ukrainian security forces.
Earlier on Tuesday, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee gave a number of instructions to record and investigate new facts of shelling of the civilian population of Donbass by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Investigators will have to find out all the facts of the attacks and consolidate the evidence.
On February 27, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are using ammunition filled with phosphorus in the suburbs of Kyiv near the Gostomel airfield.

On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the sovereignty of the republics. Also, the Russian leader and the heads of the LPR and DPR signed agreements on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance, which, among other things, provide for the right to build military bases on the territory of the parties and provide military assistance to each other.
On February 24, Vladimir Putin announced a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. After that, the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky accused the Russian Federation of hitting the country’s military infrastructure and introduced martial law throughout Ukraine. He also said that Kyiv is breaking off diplomatic relations with Moscow and withdrawing its diplomats from the embassy.
