There is only one economic plan (and it is not Feletti’s)

Beyond the circumstances, in the background, an idea persists in the Government: the only economic plan in progress is the one that dictates Martin Guzman which, it is understood, is being discussed with the International Monetary Fund.

In some conversations, President Fernández has been honest: his creed is that by ensuring macroeconomic consistency of the main variables, reducing fiscal imbalances, keeping the promise of accumulating dollars in BCRA reserves and fully complying with everything that says the IMF (according to the sealed agreement) at some point the expectations will be decanting in a reduction in the cost of living from a lower bid with the sectors that make up the prices. In the formulation, it would be something like “I do my homework, but you must do it too”.

For Feletti, the question is more drastic. The economist sees that, going forward, there will be greater rises in the international prices of cereals, oilseeds, meat and energy, and that the Guzmán-Georgieva plan will not be enough. The arm wrestling for the retentions was the final straw. Due to the aforementioned, the Casa Rosada does not want to contaminate the relationship with the business sectors or with the media that have interests in the agricultural sector by breaking in with a measure without consultation.

It will be seen later if it is necessary to take it, but in any case, it will be Guzmán who will demand that decision as part of a consensual strategy. The IMF will also have an opinion.
