Pure relaxation
“If someone goes on a journey, he can tell something. That’s why I take my cane and hat. And I would choose to travel.” Poet Matthias Claudius wrote in 1775 (!), which – at least for me – is still valid. Traveling is simply fun, broadens horizons, reduces everyday problems and has been proven to boost the production of endorphins.
Four days on the Adriatic, three days in Burgenland or in southern Styria – what could be nicer? The anticipation inspires weeks beforehand, the suitcase is quickly packed, the destination quickly reached. A weekend in a different environment can work wonders. Over and over again.

Pure stress factor
Spontaneously fly to Mallorca over Pentecost, take the train to Amsterdam or drive to Croatia. After the travel-calmed pandemic years, Mr. and Mrs. Austrians use every opportunity to turn their backs on their own four walls.
At the latest when you’re standing in the overcrowded departure hall, don’t get a seat on the train or there’s a traffic jam on the freeway, the thought arises that the short vacation might not have been such a good idea. Because most people are not looking for thrills in their free time, but for relaxation. You’re more likely to find them on your own balcony on a long weekend when the weather is nice. The suitcases are packed when it really pays off.
