A crisis gives us all the opportunity to become leaders; to do something for the other and to get out of our comfort zone.
If you are one of those who love to grow and help others grow, these tips are for you …
They are excited and activated by taking action. They don’t need someone to come and tell them what to do. They do. They focus on the situation, make the best decisions, and move on. They think big. The size of your thoughts is proportional to the result of your achievements.
What should we NOT do? Staying in the complaint, in the “you can not”, “I was not taught”, “is a lot for me.” In a crisis, it is a lot for everyone. But in this situation, there is the one who can focus on what should be done, and there is the one who remains in the complaint. These are extraordinary times, which require extraordinary people, doing extraordinary things.
What are the resources I have? What else can we do? How far can I push my limits? What are my options? What else can I do? Leaders think creatively, and with an open mind. They can see beyond what is foreseeable and can see opportunities where others may not see them. They push their own limits to see opportunities where others see limitations.
While some think about the system, or only seek to comply, or are intimidated by criticism, leaders do not lose sight of what is most important: who they serve. Leaders can transcend pressures to focus on people and do the best they can do for them. They are not distracted along the way.
Leaders articulate their visions convincingly and achieve an emotional connection that enables them to reach out to people. It is that bond that allows them to connect and achieve productivity and not reactivity in the other. They can identify people’s potentialities, and help them to develop and empower them. They believe in the potential of people and work to help them reach their highest potential.

Leadership is seeing opportunity in the midst of difficulty. It is not easy to lead yourself. It is much easier to tell the other what to do, or to be told what to do. But having the self-discipline to take yourself to the highest levels, out of conviction and not out of obligation, is a challenge. You are going to have to examine your convictions, your mental models, your thoughts, your behaviors and actions.
Every crisis gives us the opportunity to show ourselves what we are capable of. To see how far we can go and to be surprised at how much we can.
Everyone can be a chapter, but not all of them become history.
If it’s not you who? If not now when?
