Voting with hate, ignorance and contempt can be dangerous

For a teacher, educating means forming a spirit capable of thinking for itself. Educating cannot be confused with prescribing thought content. Instructing does not consist of defending an ideology, but rather developing qualities of discernment, judgment, and responsibility, which allow each person to form their own opinion. The economic culture trains a very precise line of thought, as well as hatred of other ways of thinking. A kind of militarization of thought. Instead of persuasion, insult. Instead of democratic debate, ideological monopoly. Foreign is better than Argentine. It is not about educating citizens, but about teaching them “the truth”…and insulting them if they utter other truths. – What good teacher would insult his students?

If before dirty things were seen, now some politicians have obscene and lustful behavior that offends citizens. There are extortion mechanisms, small pieces that store a lot of information are used to listen to and record conversations, interference in cell phones, corrupt security or information services, influence peddling, cocaine, bribes and negotiations.

At the center of youth interest, where political passions once raged, now are the private affairs and concerns of the powerful.

Some look with respect at the rich and famous and, instead of questioning them, admire them for being bandits, others feel sorry for them because they pay taxes. In reality, no one rigorously censures the frenetic political leaders and very big businessmen either.

Those called to enforce the laws, in their capacity as representatives of the institutions, systematically violate them. It even seems like it’s okay for them to lie when they’re given a microphone. There are things, like the nature of certain blackmail, that are best admitted as late as possible. These are human weaknesses.

There is something that, however, cannot be overlooked: “the ridiculous.”

How can politics be taken seriously, when the characters we see are presidential candidates, interviewed by venal reporters, financed by themselves and have become corrupt businessmen?

A finalist who practices “Interspecies spiritualism” and talks to his dead dog said that the Pope is the representative of the evil one on earth. That Al Capone is a hero and a social benefactor and Elliot Ness is an idiot because he did not allow him to sell alcohol freely, under “Prohibition.” Al Capone was a bloodthirsty murderer and he does not mention it because it does not obstruct, the central problem is that they prevented him from “exercising freedom” from the empire of crime that he had under his control: clandestine gambling, prostitution, bribery, narcotics, robberies, protection businesses mafia and murders in Chicago Illinois, according to an FBI report. He proposed the sale of children, organs and weapons. He denies climate change, remains silent and does not answer the TN journalist who questions him – do you believe in democracy? -And she doesn’t react, or responds with silence. She has to think about it, she walks around, the lady tells her “it’s very easy, yes or no.”. Her running mate claims the civil-military dictatorship. She’s not even a denialist. In her space, Benegas Lynch wants to privatize the sea and break diplomatic relations with the Vatican, and Ramiro Marra recommends children watch pornography.

Speaking of ridiculous, we saw them photographed holding each other in a hug with a knowing smile from two journalists to the two arch enemies who called themselves “a bunch of bombs in kindergartens,” and “you have jets on the lists.” Now they say that they would be hugging because there would be “an audio” that a third peacekeeper would threaten to release. In the coming days, there will be many reckless fights. Let’s hope that the media war ends here, before this grotesque farce launched overwhelms us all.

Conclusions from 4 surveys

We need to include Argentine History in all universities. Ignorance of the most recent history insults our Argentine identity. Our Malvinas heroes gave their lives to live free and in democracy. It is painful that a third of the professionals who voted in the survey on the LinkedIn network – Pablo Tigani profile – believe that the credit with the IMF (2018) was taken by Cristina Kirchner and Alberto Fernández. Also, a third of the professionals stated that they did not know that Peronism is the only political space where, in all periods of government, GDP and wages grew, and unemployment fell. More than 8 out of 10 professionals voted that debating “economics” was more important than debating “education” and “democratic coexistence.”

The members of this professional network have the responsibility of helping to reverse companies, entrepreneurship, and university studies; cultural, economic and financial decline. It does not seem that this contribution can arrive, with a third of the leadership who does not know the history or economic performance of the country. They do not know how to periodize and do not distinguish different chapters in a period of 70 or 100 years, directly alluding to Hipólito Yrigoyen or Juan Perón. They only repeat what hyper-militant pseudo-journalism installs. It is necessary to identify the periods and economic policies; and the strategies that brought frustration and decline.

Mafalda said: “living without reading is dangerous, it forces you to believe in what they tell you.” Therefore, if we do not read we will be more manipulable because we will lack criteria to differentiate what is true from what is false. Reading is essential. No one can prohibit us from reading, just as they cannot prohibit us from thinking. Hate and prejudice cannot replace knowledge and data. In another section of the survey we asked if in the runoff election they voted with hatred, moderation or indifference. A third of those surveyed added: “hate” (15%) and “indifference” (18%).

Ignorance and contempt for life

What citizen who is honest with a seat would not regularly go to Congress? -We are not indifferent that one day he was, he voted against the National Law on Congenital Heart Diseases, a spit to those of us who suffered the death of a child with “tetralogy of Fallot.” It cannot be that he explains that one is free to choose to starve, if he does not accept to work for a miserable salary. Let him tell that he smashed a punchin ball with the face of Raúl Ricardo Alfonsín, whom he frequently insults along with Don Hipólito Yrigoyen.

A few weeks ago, a university professor, a candidate for foreign service in that space, trampled on the blood of our Malvinas heroes. A similar former president had already said that possession of the Malvinas would “increase public spending.” Likewise, they insult those who receive salaries from the State – without saying it – war veterans, soldiers, officers and sub-officers, even though they have left everything to defend those of us who were watching the conflagration on television.

Impudently the candidate with the most votes in the PASO He said he identified with Margaret Thatcher. We have to make an effort and leave disagreements behind, but only with those who want to live in democracy.

The precarious knowledge of the issues that this space deals with regarding classical culture, its historical perspective, intellectual rigor and argumentative moderation until now, do not imply obstacles to passionately defend simple points of view that claim to be philosophical, but that only harbor hatred and violence.

Argentine democracy should de-ideologize the hegemonic technocratic elite, just as Germany had to be denazified, as Russia should have been decommunized. Technocracy is the challenge to democracy. The technocratic elite needs to learn tolerance, the existence of others who look differently than their own. On the other hand, his new partners from three days ago, with the accusation of Kirchnerism, since it is an accusation in the mouth of the opposition candidates, and not an objective denomination, reflects the reluctance to accept a true democracy. Kirchnerism is the nickname with which this perverted democracy hides its contempt for pluralism.

Social justice is not an aberration. It is the recognition of the dignity of all men, taught by Christianity, which Kant describes as man’s emergence from adolescence to become an adult, and greets the end of higher beings. Politics is placed under the sign of prudence. A political space that fights through insults against contrary opinions demonstrates its lack of democratic will. The elites have not accepted the controversy, and are reestablishing the class struggle, exasperated by not being able to impose their truths. Beware of stimulating the destructive calamity again. Never more.
