Within the framework of a mining exhibition held in Jump was launched Federal Chamber of Mining Suppliers (CaFeProMi)which brings together the chambers of commerce of the provinces with mining exploration and production projects throughout the country.

The new entity is made up of CAMJUSEMI of Jujuy, represented by Javier Grenni; CAPEMISA, from Salta, through its president Federico Russo; CAPPROMIN of Catamarca, headed by Manuel Gomez Bello; the Sanjuanina CAPRIMSA, which represents Fernando Godoy, and the Santa Cruz-based CAPROMISA, led by Diego Irigoyen.

As revealed Mining News from the fair Argentina Miningwhich is taking place in the provincial capital of Salta, the members of the new chamber will seek to “consolidate the alliance of the reference institutions of the companies that provide goods and services to the mining provinces in the interior of the country.”

“There is an installed capacity in each of our provinces that places us on equal terms with any national or international company to provide services to mining companies” commented Federico Russo in the presentation.Russo said during the launch.

In this context, providers considered it necessary to create an institution that represents, manages and preserves the interests of local service providers in each province, in order to join forces and generate synergy.

During the presentation, they stated that “No one understands better than them that the true development of communities close to mining projects comes from local employment, and the promotion of the first, second and third rings in the value chain.”.

They added that “it is the communities that must approve and support the development of the mining industry and that is why local purchasing and hiring is essential.”

The Catamarcan Manuel Gomez Belloof CAPPROMINsaid that “This Roundtable was created to support the mining development of our country, and is made up of key players who work side by side with companies and governments every day to obtain the social license.”

Since the formation of the Federal Chamber of Mining Suppliersthe Chamber of Mining Suppliers of Catamarca will be the one to lead the founding process and the first steps of the institution. And in this framework, Gómez Bello was chosen to face the first management of CaFeProMialthough they clarified that the presidency will alternate between the founding provinces of this new institution.

The representatives of the new institution reported that in the coming days they will seek to include the chambers of other provinces where mining is taking its first steps, such as La Rioja and Mendoza.
