Open and functional spaces: amenities are no longer an option but a necessity

It is important to stop and think about how the spaciousness of spaces directly impacts the quality of life.

The latest world events impacted the sector of Real Estate as no one could have imagined. The lockdown brought about a series of significant changes in the way we conceive of housing. The need to adapt to a new reality led us to make improvements to the amenities that we developers offer.

In this context, it is clear that everyone has rediscovered the importance of having balconies and open spaces in their homes. Balconies are no longer just architectural additions but have become personal refuges, connections with the outdoors, spaces that allow us to connect with the environment, nature and fresh air. Furthermore, this connection proved to be effective for the good emotional and mental state of the population.

Amenities are no longer an option but a necessity. Nowadays, any new building should have, at the very least, a Multipurpose Room (SUM) and a barbecue area. From the swimming pool and the viewing platform to the solarium, the gym and the micro-cinema, the common areas were transformed into meeting and recreation points for the neighbours.

This is why the clear trend in current construction is towards open and functional spaces, where services and amenities are integrated that go beyond the walls of each apartment. The coworking sector, for example, is also gaining prominence as it offers the possibility of working outside the apartment.

It is important to stop and think about how the spaciousness of spaces directly impacts the quality of life. Having spacious, open and well-designed common areas provides a sense of belonging and well-being on a daily basis. Amenities encourage relaxation and help create an environment conducive to rest and fully enjoy the home.

In short, the current challenge for real estate developers is to create projects that not only meet the standards of comfort and safety, but also adapt to the new demands of a lifestyle marked by the search for well-being. Excellence in quality of life must be the true luxury offered.
