Sergio Neiffert appeared before the Bicameral Intelligence Committee. He claimed not to have used the 100 billion pesos that the Government transferred to the organization to use as a reserved fund and that was vetoed by Congress.

The head of the State Intelligence Secretariat, Sergio Neiffert, He assured the Bicameral Intelligence Commission that he had not used the 100 billion pesos that the Government had transferred to the agency to be used as a reserved fund. Last week, the National Congress revoked that decree.

Neiffert had been summoned weeks ago to the first meeting held on August 27.

In addition to an accountability of the use of these funds, as reported by the Argentine News Agency, he assured the senators and deputies that he still does not have the intelligence plan that he will implement in the new structure.

The briefing began at 4:00 p.m. and was conducted by Neiffert, who was accompanied by the director of the Intelligence Service, Alexander Colombo; the director of the National Security Agency; Alejandro Cecati; the director of the Federal Cybersecurity Agency, Ariel Waissbein; Andres Spitzer, Chief of Staff; and Mariano Cholakian, Undersecretary of Planning.

The Bicameral Commission gained relevance after President Javier Milei issued Decree of Necessity and Urgency 656/24 by which he granted millions of dollars in funds to the SIDE.

Its management was left in the hands of the radical Martin Lousteau, who is seconded as vice president by deputy Leopoldo Moreau and as secretary by senator Oscar Parrilli, two swords of former president Cristina Kirchner.

Just as Neiffert claimed that the money was not used, he maintained that it will be returned. In the early hours of last Friday, the Senate dealt the final blow to the SIDE DNU with 49 votes against and 11 in favor.

The majority was built with votes from radicalism, Kirchnerists and federal blocks.
