He government of the City of Buenos Aires delayed the start of registration for the Dengue vaccination campaign. Finally, it will be enabled on the next week and the inoculation program will begin on Monday, September 30.
The first age group to be vaccinated will be adolescents 15 to 19 years old. The Qdenga vaccine consists of a total of two doses which should be applied with a 3 month difference.
When will vaccination against Dengue begin in CABA?
The Buenos Aires government announced that the Registration to receive the Dengue vaccine was delayed and will only be enabled next week. According to official sources, the final details are being worked on for the opening of the vaccination centers, so it was decided to postpone the opening for the assignment of shifts to guarantee “a more efficient experience for everyone“.
The actual inoculation will begin only on Monday, September 30th. Once the website is enabled, those interested can register to receive the Dengue vaccine at the following vaccination centres:

- Pirovano Hospital – Commune 12
- Islamic Center (Extra-hospital post) – Commune 14
Who can receive the Dengue vaccine in CABA:
Vaccination is indicated for residents of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the program will initially aim to inoculate adolescents aged 15 to 19, and people aged 20 to 39 will gradually be called in. The vaccine is not recommended for under 4 years old, over 60 years oldimmunosuppressed people or pregnant women.
This priority assigned by the Buenos Aires government accompanies the recommendations of the National Immunization Commission (CoNaIn)based on which the Ministry of Health of the Nationin coordination with the provinces, defined the national guidelines for the vaccination campaign. They established a strategy focused and segmentedprioritizing the regions of greatest viral transit and the age groups that contracted the disease the most.
The Government confirmed that it will not include the dengue vaccine in the national calendar
While different district governments advance in the campaigns to guarantee the dengue vaccine before the beginning of summer, from the National Government confirmed – in the Chamber of Deputies – that they will delegate the prevention strategy to each of the provinces. The officialization was made by the Secretary of Health of the Nation, Leandro Bussowho pointed out in the Commission of Social Action and Public Health that the Executive defined “not putting the vaccine on the national calendarfollowing the recommendations of the National Immunization Commission (CoNaIn) and the WHO.”
Despite the decision, Busso also highlighted that the national government developed “a plan of prevention and control of dengue so that it can be adapted to the reality of each province. The plan includes entomological and vector control to try to combat the larvae.” In turn, he raised the need for “the dissemination of information to the population along with health strategies, with clinical guides, to give patients an early consultation.”
