The head of the Palacio de Hacienda in the post added a box with the explanation. Thus, in the case of tires for cars and motorcycles, the tariff will drop from 35% to 16%, in the case of motorcycles it will go from 35% to 20%, similar figures in the case of bicycles.
In this same line, Tariffs will be reduced on 30 products, including small appliances, coffee, sun creams and gas bottles, which had tariffs of between 25% and 35%. As of the publication of the measure, they will have the regional level, with tariffs of between 9% and 30%.
In addition, 21 products – including PET plastic, copper tubes and textile inputs – that had aliquots of between 12.6% and 35%, will drop to values between 2% and 20%. Thus, they will be below the tariff established by Mercosur and will be included in the National List of Exceptions to the Common External Tariff, which allows tariffs on up to 100 products to be below those of the bloc.
The rate will also be reduced to 38 pieces of machinery – among which are industrial furnaces, boilers and engines without national production – that had a tariff of between 12.6% and 35% and will now have a tariff of between 2% and 12, 6%. The products will be included in the Mercosur Capital Goods list, which allows durable goods to have a preferential import tariff.
In the case of tires for cars and motorcycles, the reduction will be made in three sections of 5% every four months and a final section of 4%, while for motorcycles the reduction will be made in two sections, one of 10% and one of 5%.
