In the previous days the government announced the dissolution of AFIPas well as the creation of the Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARCA), an organization with a “simpler, more efficient, less expensive and less bureaucratic structure,” in the words of the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni.

This measure was made official through Decree 953/2024 published in the last Official Gazette, with the signatures of Javier Milei, Guillermo Francos, and Patricia Bullrich. However, many doubts arose about what the new way of making the necessary billings.

Without the AFIP: how do I bill?

The new method for billing will be through ARCA. But the website, at least until now, will continue to be that of AFIP. All types of procedures must be carried out by this means until the government announces otherwise.

What is the problem with the ARCA website?

At the moment the domain for ARCA is not yet available. The problem is that this domain already is in use by a website from the province of Catamarca.

Still The national government did not make any statement about the problem of confusion with Catamarca, but it has already been reported that experts on the subject are trying to reach an agreement to see who is going to keep the current domain.

Why the government dissolved the AFIP

The government decided to dissolve the AFIP to change it “for an efficient organism” that can meet the needs and save unnecessary expenses generated by the entity. The presidential spokesperson pointed out that for many years the AFIP functioned as a political box used to “subdue” many Argentines.

These measures are part of a process of eliminate all agencies that the government considers corrupt or that operate improperly, they also hope that now from ARCA Argentines can carry out their procedures in a simpler and more direct way without so many intermediaries.
