The Telecom project was completed together with 14 strategic partners of the agricultural value chain, involved in the development of the region: AGCO, Allaria Agro, Bayer, Case IH, Chacra Servicios, CNH, Corteva, Crucianelli, Banco Galicia, Gear, New Holland, Strix, Rizobacter and RUS Seguros.
It is the first collaborative project with strategic partners from the agroindustrial sector and municipalities for the development of a continuous coverage area in rural areas, which was developed within the framework of Telecom’s strategic plan to promote the agtech ecosystem, in the agricultural and livestock sector, through the deployment of 8 new sites.
With the installation of these 8 additional sites to the current capacity, Telecom It is reaching 97% coverage of the total area of both parties and reaching more than 134,000 people.

Connectivity is a key factor for the expansion of the agtech ecosystem, which accelerated its growth in recent years and is today a strong bet for local economic development.
With the new infrastructure, Telecom together with its partners They provide a path of response to ruralitytaking into account the social impact (rooting, security, health, education), environmental (footprint and control of the use of resources).
And it also addresses the relevance that the enabling technologies mounted on it have for the productive operation to streamline online procedures, monitor agricultural machinery, guarantee product quality, streamline processes in general and allow digital traceability or digital footprint of our activities, among other benefits.
Official inauguration of the cluster for the agtech ecosystem
Fernando Feytes, Head of IoT at Telecom Argentina, participated in the official inauguration of the collaborative cluster, along with the mayor of the Pergamino Party, Javier Martínez, and the mayor of the Rojas Party, Román Bouvier.
In addition, executives from different companies and contributors were present, who are part of the collaborative development of Telecom.
Fernando Freytes explained: “We started two years ago to work very closely with agriculture, we decided that we had to connect the productive core of the country with everything that that means, also thinking in terms of territorial extension. We strategically decided to start with the first 500 thousand hectares between the districts of Pergamino and Rojas. We achieved articulate between all the actors involved, strategic partners, companies and districts and today we are very happy to have made this project a reality, to complete the first stage of connecting the field and from there to go to the next step.”
For his part, Javier Martínez, mayor of Pergamino, said: “We who believe a lot in the productive interior, who believe that the exit of our country has to do with the strength of the productive interior, giving it greater participation, greater capacity, greater vision and that connectivity reaches this digital ring has to do with agricultural technology. With artificial intelligence applicable to agricultureYes, but with training, with education, with rural schools, with the children of the stallholders or the stallholders themselves who we want in the countryside to have the same benefits that those who live in the big cities have.”
In addition, he added: “We want to thank Telecom, because I believe that for you it has also been a challenge, an internal challenge for the entire structure of our municipality, because here we are facilitators and we are collaborators in the cluster project.”
Meanwhile, Roman Bouvier, mayor of Rojas, commented: “I want to thank Telecom for this initiative, but also each of the companies. We also have a debt to work with the countryside, but here I want to talk about the solidarity that the companies in our district had to not be selfish and collaborate. In this case we were facilitators and articulators of the project. The same companies that are part of our district also came to contribute technology. And far from being selfish, they are going to share with every area in the district, with every field that can be connected to the network, and they are going to contribute to production.”
Furthermore, he highlighted: “And this is what we need more and more as a country, to articulate ourselves between the different levels of the State, with each of the businessmen, with each of the producers and with a company like Telecom leading this. State, companies, municipalities, producers. “We are going to move this country forward if we work together.”
The launch of this project was carried out in March of this year, within the framework of Expoagro 2024. The installation of the new connectivity sites with 4G technology and IoT networks was completed in nine months.
The first site that was put into operation at the moment of the announcement is located in Las Carabelas, Rojas district.
