Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes star in the new sequel to the zombie movie.

In 2002 it hit theaters 28 Days Later (Extermination), the film starring Cillian Murphy It showed a post-apocalyptic England infected by a virus that turned people into “zombies” and how a group of survivors try to escape. The film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland anticipated the revival of the zombie phenomenon that would have its greatest exponent in the series The Walking Dead. 22 years later and with a sequel in the middle (28 Weeks Later 2007), Boyle and Garland return with 28 Years Later (Extermination: Evolution), the third part of this story.

Accompanied by the haunting sound of a Taylor Holmes recording of Rudyard Kipling’s war poem Boots, the first trailer for the new film presents a post-apocalyptic world in which Aaron Taylor-Johnson He walks through the green fields of England wielding a bow and arrow.

What 28 Years Later is about

According to the official synopsis, it’s been nearly three decades since the rabies virus escaped from a bioweapons lab and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist among the infected.

One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the continent, he discovers secrets, wonders and horrors that have mutated not only the infected, but other survivors as well.

In addition to Taylor-Johnson, the film features Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell in the cast.

It was also previously confirmed that Cillian Murphy, who played bike messenger Jim in the first film in the series, would return for the current sequel “in a surprising way and in a way that grows [al personaje]”.

Although it has not been confirmed, one of the zombies in the trailer bears a striking resemblance to the Oscar winner.

The film was shot simultaneously with 28 Years Later II: The Bone Templethe second film in this new trilogy, which was directed by Nia DaCosta.
