How much does it cost to make a vitel toné for the whole family?

If you haven’t bought food for the holidays yet, I discovered how to make this typical Christmas dish.

When you think about what you can eat at Christmas, there are many traditional dishes of the date. One of the best known is the vitel tonethat meat covered in an irresistible tuna sauce is a great must-have at Argentine Fiestas. But making it from scratch requires several ingredients.

Vitel toné originated in Piedmont, Italywhere it is known as vitel tonnà, which means beef with tuna. Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 anchovies
  • 1 ladle of cooking broth
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 100 cc milk cream

Procedure

  • Seal the breast spinning it in a hot pot. Cover it with hot water, vegetables and salt.
  • Let it boil medium low heatwith a semi-covered pot 2 hours approximately.
  • Let it cool a little and transfer to a container along with the broth (it should be semi-covered). Place in the refrigerator, ideally 1 day before.
  • When the meat is very cold cut into thin slices and arrange in a staggered manner. For the dip Mix the tuna, anchovies, ladleful of broth, mustard, mayonnaise, salt and pepper until smooth.
  • Then the final touch of milk cream. Mix barely. Adjust salt and pepper if necessary and if you like it with a more liquid texture, just a little more broth. Pour over the meat and reserve in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
