The show’s sixth season was released in 2022, but instead of a seventh, Knight wants to finish the story of Tommy Shelby (Murphy) and the rest of his criminal companions with a feature film.
The film is written by Knight and directed by Tom Harperwho directed three episodes of the series. Murphy will reprise her role as Shelby, alongside a supporting cast of Stephen Graham, Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan and Tim Roth. The film will be distributed by Netflixbut no release date has been confirmed.
The future of Peaky Blinders
In a new interview with Paris Match, Knight spoke about the future of Peaky Blinders now that the film has finished filming. He also hinted at a possible sequel with a new generation of characters.
“We are going to focus on the new generation in a series that will take place after World War II. And then, who knows? “Why not a clothing line?” he said, as translated by ScreenRant.
In addition to Knight’s comment in the interview, hair and makeup designer Nadia Stacey recently posted about the film’s ending, beginning the title with “THE IMMORTAL MAN – Peaky Blinders the Movie,” hinting at a possible title for the upcoming project.
