“[Batman] already exists in this universe, just like when we get to the Superman movie and see that Superman already exists and is already known to the people of Metropolis,” DC Studios co-head James Gunn told Rotten Tomatoes. “We don’t need to hear the origin story again.”.
“When I first got the episode, we saw a lot more of Batman,” Gunn added. “I was like, ‘I’m not ready to commit to that, I’m not ready to commit to that, I’m not ready to commit to that.’ So I thought, ‘More silhouette!’ “It’s a great way to show that Batman exists.”
Gunn also teased a possible “World’s Finest” team-up between the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader.
“I love Batman. I have loved him since I was a little boy. “He’s one of my favorite characters,” Gunn said. “We are going to do great things with him. He’s the most popular superhero in the world and I can’t wait for people to see more of him, along with Superman.”.
