Misiones: Hugo Passalacqua establishes a compensation fund for public transport

The decree authorizes the delivery of 18,000 million pesos to sustain the provincial compensation fund during the first four months of 2025.

Resources are aimed at passenger public transport companies in urban and interurban mode in order to guarantee accessibility to the transport system to all passengers in the province, according to the determination of the Ministry of Finance, Finance, Works and Public Services of the province of Misiones.

The allocation of the funds will be subject to the effective certification of the service by the corresponding municipalities, following the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Finance.

In this sense, lAs it is based on the need to expand accessibility to the public transport system and relieve the cost of the passage paid by users, thus guaranteeing the continuity and sustainability of the service in the province.

The provincial government said that “this policy is part of a broader strategy to strengthen productive sectors, improve financing conditions and provide assistance for continuous growth.”

“With the implementation of this initiative, it is not only sought to keep the cost of transport for users stable, but also ensure the quality and continuity of the service,” they said.

“This is particularly important in areas where access to public transport is essential for people’s mobility and access to basic services.”

It should be remembered that exactly one year ago, the National Government decided to eliminate the compensating fund from the interior, which regulated the price of the collective ticket in the provinces.

This fact generated discomfort between both the governors and in the mayors, who claimed Nation through different mechanisms, without success so far.
