The city takes a new step to launch the jurisdiction of work

The necessary games to initiate the selection contest of 21 judicial positions for this jurisdiction were included in the 2025 budget. They seek to significantly reduce the times of labor judgments.

The City of Buenos Aires advances in the process of launching its own work, a milestone that promises greater efficiency in the resolution of labor conflicts and consolidates Buenos Aires autonomy. The Minister of Justice Buenos Aires, Gabino Tapiahe informed the Magistracy Council that Budget 2025 includes the necessary games to initiate the selection of 21 judicial positions for this jurisdiction.

The Council, under the presidency of Karina Leguizamón, decided to start immediately with the process, which includes judges, prosecutors and advisors of both first instance and chamber. This jurisdiction, created by Law 6,789, will apply the new Labor Procedure Code of the city.

According to Tapia, this advance will allow significantly reduce the times of labor judgmentswhich currently extend five to eight years in national justice, affecting both workers and companies. The creation of the local jurisdiction will facilitate more agile and righteous processes, avoiding the loss of value of labor credits and relieving companies to pay interest and accumulated adjustments.

The measure also responds to the central objective of the Head of Government, Jorge Macri, to consolidate Buenos Aires autonomy, equating its ability to self -government with that of the provinces, as established by the constitutional reform of 1994 and recent failures of the Supreme Court.

This new step in the Administration of Local Justice is a fundamental tool to resolve labor conflicts more efficiently and closely, benefiting workers, employers and strengthening the institutional structure of the City of Buenos Aires.
