The cost of construction in CABA slowed down and rose below inflation in January

The cost of construction in the city of Buenos Aires slowed down in January per second consecutive month by climbing 1.4% compared to 2.1% of Decemberbeing below the Buenos Aires inflation that reached 3.1% in the first month of the year.

Construction cost: monthly behavior

In the monthly analysis, labor increased 2.7%, general expenses 1.8%and 0.5%materials. With regard to the work item, preliminary and excavations works recorded the greatest increase, with 2.6%, while the health installation was the only sector that showed a slight decline of 0.7%.

Regarding the salary cost of the construction, the report revealed that in January there was an increase of 2.5% compared to the previous month and 108.7% in interannual terms, based on the impact of joint negotiations and the salary recomposition.

On the other hand, the construction cost per square meter in the city reached $ 1,123,620.58 on average. This cost does not include the Value Added Tax (VAT), the purchase value of the land, the construction rights and the permits/authorities of the CABA, as well as the financial expenses or the usefulness of the construction company.
