After an alleged Chinese spy balloon was sighted over the USA, another such flying object has now appeared.
Another possible spy balloon is hovering over Latin America, according to information from the United States.
“We are seeing reports of a balloon flying over Latin America. We are in the process of finding out if this is another Chinese surveillance balloon,” US Defense Department spokesman Pat Ryder said on Friday evening (local time).
On Thursday evening, the Pentagon announced for the first time that such a balloon had been in US airspace for days. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken canceled his planned trip to China at short notice on Friday. Blinken sharply criticized China for its behavior. Beijing said the balloon was for scientific purposes only and had deviated from its trajectory. The Pentagon disagreed and described the flying object as a “surveillance balloon”.
