Climate activists have been obstructing traffic in various cities for months. In Hanover it’s that time again today – drivers have to be patient.
Activists from the Last Generation group again stuck themselves to the road at the Deisterkreisel in Hanover on Monday morning, blocking traffic for almost an hour. An ambulance from the Hannover Region rescue service was also affected by the traffic obstruction on a mission with blue lights and a siren and had to take a detour. According to the regional control center, the condition of the patient in the ambulance did not deteriorate.
A total of seven women and men were involved in the action. The police used oil to free the glued hands from the asphalt and carried the demonstrators off the street. The police are investigating because of coercion in traffic. The protest group Last Generation has been organizing actions for months, one of which took place two weeks ago (February 6th) also at the Deisterkreisel. Their aim is to persuade politicians to do more climate protection.
