For two hours, Russian President Vladimir Putin justified the war against Ukraine in his speech to the Federal Assembly. In its world, the West is to blame for everything, and Russia is fighting for peace. In the end, Putin announced that he would suspend the final nuclear control treaty.
“The truth is with us,” Putin said, concluding his State of the Union address to the Federal Assembly. The speech lasted two hours, longer than ever before. The traditional appearance was canceled last year because of the outbreak of war, and so it seemed as if Putin wanted to make up for the missed speech at the same time.
