Three officers from the police headquarters in Freiburg have to answer to the judiciary. Reason: hate speech in a chat group – image and video files were found, among other things, with right-wing extremist content.
Among other things, because of the suspicion of hate speech in a chat group, the Karlsruhe public prosecutor is investigating three officers of the police headquarters in Freiburg.
The authority announced on Wednesday that four other members of the group were still examining possible criminal offenses.
In the course of disciplinary proceedings, the police officers’ mobile phones, some of which were also used for work, were confiscated. During their evaluation, the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office discovered criminally relevant image and video files “in which in particular right-wing extremist, xenophobic and partly homophobic content can be determined”.
The public prosecutor also accuses the accused of using so-called identifiers of unconstitutional organizations. This could be swastikas, for example.
