Despite a great willingness to change among the Turkish population, devastating mismanagement after the earthquake and massive economic problems, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan probably won the election. Even though he missed the required absolute majority by one percent in the first ballot, he left his competitor Kılıçdaroğlu behind. The votes of the ultra-right Sinan Ogan will most likely help Erdoğan regain the presidency in the second ballot in two weeks.
