Once this year, Robert Habeck even seemed happy when the subject of heating was discussed. The Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection sat in a wood-panelled room and heard incredible things. In front of him stood the boss of this municipal thermal power station and reported that almost 99 percent of all households in the city area depended on his district heating network. Habeck smiled. Then the boss said that they were rebuilding everything. That they’d punched a hole in the wall to lift the huge new pumps in. And that they will soon even be able to heat in a climate-neutral manner.
Then the Vice Chancellor let out an admiring: “Shit!”
