Publicist Michel Friedman has criticized increasing anti-Semitism in Germany. “The quality of life has gotten worse for Jews in Germany,” Friedman told the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung (Thursday). It is now so far “that one is mobbed or even attacked in the tram or on the street just because one is recognizable as a Jew.”
The former vice-president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany went on to say that when he was 25 he was more carefree with a Star of David in public than 25-year-olds are today. This development also has something to do with Islamic anti-Semitism. “That’s not the primary anti-Semitism, but it’s more aggressive,” Friedman said.
