Chile and Colombia recall their ambassadors from Israel. Chilean President Gabriel Boric announced via the short message service X that the ambassador had been recalled for consultations about Israel’s violation of international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip. Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro called on Israel to stop the “massacre of the Palestinians.” Bolivia had previously announced that it would break off diplomatic relations with Israel. The country is committing crimes against humanity with its attacks on the Gaza Strip, said the Foreign Ministry in La Paz. In 2009, Bolivia had already cut diplomatic relations with Israel in protest against attacks on the Gaza Strip, but relations were resumed in 2020.
