The SP mandataries from Burgenland follow Doskozil

The dispute between SP federal party leader Pamela Rendi-Wagner and her Burgenland comrade Hans Peter Doskozil continues.

The argument also affects the parliamentary club.

The two Burgenland SP mandataries National Councilor Maximilian Kllner and Federal Councilor Gnter Kovacs said on Friday that they would continue to represent Doskozil at the federal level. Kllner, who represents the Burgenland SP in the National Council alongside Christian Drobits, pointed out that he had voted against the club line in January – it was about corona tests at the time. He said that he “did not make the club happy”.

If he does not agree with the strategic direction, he will not mince his words in the future either, said Kllner. The content-related positioning should now be discussed internally: “Everyone in the party has a duty.”

The media should also focus on the essentials, “on the failures of the Kurz government, where one scandal follows the next”.

Kovacs emphasized that “always to represent the governor’s line” in the provincial chamber, especially since Burgenland is a pioneer in many areas such as care and climate protection.

When asked about the conflict between Rendi-Wagner and Doskozil, Kovacs said: “I was a bit shocked to hear that we had a former bearer of hope. That’s not okay with me at all.” The governor can rely on the Burgenlanders to be “always loyal” in the Federal Council.

In the meantime, Rendi-Wagner tries to provide factual statements. The SP calls on companies that made profits during the crisis and still received state aid to repay them.

The party leader and her economic spokesman Christoph Matznetter criticized the Covid financing agency COFAG as a “black box” from which 40 billion euros in tax money would be distributed “without any control” at a press conference.
