Lloyd Austin came under a lot of criticism because he didn’t tell anyone about his prostate cancer and his hospital stay. Now the US Secretary of Defense is returning to the Pentagon.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is back at work at the Pentagon after a lengthy period of illness. He met in Washington with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, according to a statement from the Pentagon. Austin also used the meeting to comment on his health. “I’m feeling and recovering well, but I’m still in the process of getting fit again,” said the 70-year-old.
Austin came under heavy criticism earlier this year for keeping secret his prostate cancer and a hospital stay following complications from a procedure.
Joe Biden also knew nothing about Lloyd’s hospital stay
Even US President Joe Biden didn’t know for several days that his minister was in the hospital – but later confirmed that he wanted to stick with him. Austin was released from the hospital on January 15th and initially did not work from the Pentagon.
