Cycle paths in Peru, golden SUVs: Svenja Schulze clears the air star-Conversation with fake news. She talks about the future of development aid and the new dispute over money.
Ms. Schulze, have you ever been to Peru?
No never.
But do you ride a bike?
Yes, of course, as a resident of Münster, I ride my bike a lot.
Of course you can guess why we’re asking.
Because of the unspeakable, distorted discussion about Germany promoting cycle paths in Peru.
Unspeakable?
We have to save greenhouse gases everywhere in the world – that is in our interest. It is not enough to only pursue climate protection in Germany. My predecessor from the CSU therefore initiated the process of promoting local public transport in Peru. It annoys me that this is now being portrayed as something negative.
