Hackers have launched another attack in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. And it is not over yet. The attack is not the first of its kind.
The hacker attack on the websites of the state government and the police of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is ongoing. This was announced by a spokeswoman for the Ministry of the Interior when asked by the German Press Agency.
The government in Schwerin had previously announced that since Thursday morning, various websites belonging to the state government, the state police and the Office for the Protection of the Constitution have only been accessible to a limited extent. It is not yet clear where the attack came from.
However, it is not the first attack of this kind. There were also hacker attacks in April and November last year. “The first analyses quickly showed that these were again so-called DDoS attacks, in which the servers are intended to be overloaded by massive requests,” said State Digitalization Minister Christian Pegel (SPD) on Thursday.
