Ukraine: Holidays in a war-torn country – have you ever been to Bucha?

Since the war, Ukraine has seen tourism as part of the fight for victory. Anyone who wants to can go on holiday there as a humanitarian aid worker or investigate the war crimes committed by Russian troops. Our author was travelling with a travel guide.

Now the tour guide Svet Moiseev walks with curious foreigners through the place, which has become a symbol of Russian war crimes after the massacres in the first weeks of the war. There is not much left to see. The burned-out military equipment has long since been removed, many houses hit by rockets have been repaired and only a small memorial plaque marks the mass grave next to the church.
