In Russia, 150,000 young men are currently being drafted into military service. But this was hated even before the war, and many are trying to avoid it. The authorities are therefore resorting to increasingly brutal methods.
Nikolaj, 24, from Moscow, set off to see the doctor last Saturday, but didn’t even make it to his car. The police were already waiting for him in front of his house. The officers arrested him, took him to the police station, and took his phone and bag. At first, his family didn’t even know where to look for the young man. He had simply disappeared.
This is how conscription for military service currently works in Moscow.
