The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has arrested three people. They are accused of working for a foreign secret service and of spying on a person from Ukraine living in Germany.
Three men have been arrested in Frankfurt am Main who are said to have collected information on a person from Ukraine for a foreign secret service in Germany. They scouted out a café where their target was supposed to be, the secret service announced on Friday. The three accused, who come from Armenia, Russia and Ukraine, are in custody. They are “strongly suspected” of having worked for a foreign secret service.
According to the information, they were provisionally arrested on Wednesday by forces of the Hessian State Office of Criminal Investigation and brought before the investigating judge of the Federal Court of Justice on Thursday, who issued and executed the arrest warrants.
