After the weak performance in the TV debate, many Democrats are wondering whether Joe Biden is still the right candidate – and above all: who could succeed him. And how.
Joe Biden has a problem. The US President went into the TV debate against Donald Trump with one goal: to convince voters that he is capable of a second term in office despite his advanced age.
Then the disaster took its course: Biden had trouble making himself heard. The 81-year-old spoke quietly, with a shaky voice, and was barely understandable at times. He often digressed and seemed to lose the thread. Trump spread his lies unhindered and poked his finger in the wound: “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows either.”
