Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance is defending himself against accusations of being “weird”. One of his fans isn’t making things any easier for him – they are posing with containers that supposedly contain his sperm
Donald Trump likes to put on bizarre shows during the election campaign. But his supporters are no slouch in this regard either. Pictures from Trump’s recent campaign events show a new trend that is spreading among his supporters: They carry small containers with supposedly sleazy contents to support the Republican vice-candidate, JD Vance. The containers, which are reminiscent of urine cups and supposedly contain Vance’s sperm, feature the face of Trump’s vice president and the slogan “JD Vance full family kit”.
The action is said to be an allusion to Vance’s attacks on women such as Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. In an interview with Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson in 2021, Vance said: “The United States is governed by a bunch of childless cat women who are unhappy with their own lives and the choices they have made and therefore want to make the rest of the country unhappy as well.” He went on to say that the Democrats are banking on a future with childless candidates who should not be left to run the country. A dangerous rhetoric that Trump supporters are now also using to campaign for his vice president.
Bizarre action for JD Vance
On social media, the images of the Trump ultras happily holding up their supposed sperm cup to the camera sparked criticism and derision. “Apparently they want to make fun of people who need artificial insemination, like Tim Walz and his wife,” wrote one user on X, formerly Twitter. Another was outraged: “This can’t be real. Please tell me this isn’t real.”
Despite what you might think, the images are real – and not generated by forgers using AI. The Republicans seem to be serious about this. Whether the trend will actually help Trump’s Vice President Vance in the end remains to be seen, however, as he is currently trying to get rid of the Democrats’ accusation that he is “weird”. That could become even more difficult now. But at least the campaign is generating one thing in any case: attention. And that is known to be worth its weight in gold in the US election campaign.
