The BSW could play a role in the formation of a government in Thuringia and Saxony. Party founder Wagenknecht wants to have a say in negotiations. Thuringia’s BSW boss Wolf thinks that’s fine.
Thuringia’s BSW top candidate Katja Wolf has rejected the impression that party founder Sahra Wagenknecht is having too much of an influence on the Thuringian regional association. “No, she does not decide everything and she knows that it is about Thuringia and she knows that we are a strong regional association and of course the political rules apply,” said Wolf in the ZDF morning magazine.
With regard to Wagenknecht’s announcement that she would like to sit at the negotiating table in the event of coalition negotiations in Saxony or Thuringia, Wolf said that it was a matter of close coordination. “And we would be crazy not to use their potential.” A new state parliament will be elected in Thuringia on September 1st.
