Gaza War: Palestinians: Eleven civilians killed in Gaza Strip

According to a report by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, at least eleven civilians were killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip. An undisclosed number of people were also injured in the attacks in the southern city of Khan Yunis and in the Nuseirat area in the center of the coastal strip. In Cairo, the tough efforts to achieve a ceasefire continue.

The Israeli army said that without information it could not provide any information about where exactly the people had died. Israel has been fighting the terrorist organization Hamas for more than ten months. It accuses the Islamists of using civilians as human shields. It reported that heavy fighting continued in the south, in the center and also again in the north of the Gaza Strip.

On Friday, the army called on residents of Gaza City in the north to flee west towards the sea. Israel had previously been repeatedly attacked with rockets from the city. Since Friday, soldiers have advanced there and have already killed several opponents and destroyed terrorist infrastructure, the army said.

Since the war began last October, more than 40,000 people have been killed and more than 90,000 injured in the Gaza Strip, according to the Hamas-controlled health authority. The authority does not distinguish between civilians and fighters. Israel says it has killed at least 14,000 armed men.

The Gaza war was triggered by the worst massacre in Israel’s history, with more than 1,200 deaths, carried out by terrorists from the Islamist Hamas and other extremist groups on October 7.
