Gaza War: Palestinians: Many dead in fighting in the Gaza Strip

A gruesome everyday life in the Gaza Strip. Israel’s army continues to attack enemies in the densely populated area. Civilians are repeatedly caught in the crossfire.

According to Palestinian sources, at least 50 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the coastal strip’s health authority, which is controlled by Hamas, in response to a request. It does not distinguish between civilians and armed men who die in battle with the Israeli army.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa had previously reported that at least eleven civilians had been killed. There were also an undisclosed number of injured in the attacks in the southern city of Khan Yunis and in the Nuseirat area in the center of the coastal strip. In Cairo, the tough efforts to reach a ceasefire are continuing, but Hamas has at least sent a delegation to the event.

Israel has been fighting the terrorist organization Hamas for more than ten months. It accuses the Islamists of using civilians as human shields. The army reported continued heavy fighting in the south, center and again in the north of the Gaza Strip.

On Friday, the army called on residents of Gaza City in the north to flee west towards the sea in order to avoid impending battles between the military and extremists. Israel had previously been attacked with rockets from the city. Israeli soldiers have now advanced there and killed several opponents and destroyed terrorist infrastructure, the army said.

All information could not initially be independently verified.

Since the war began last October, more than 40,000 people have been killed and more than 90,000 injured in the Gaza Strip, according to the Hamas-controlled health authority. It does not distinguish between civilians and fighters. Israel says it has killed at least 14,000 armed men.

The Gaza war was triggered by the worst massacre in Israel’s history, with more than 1,200 deaths, carried out by terrorists from the Islamist Hamas and other extremist groups on October 7.
