George Santos’ fraud brought him to the US Congress. Now he faces prison – partly because he went shopping with campaign money. But he still has hope.
The man doesn’t seem to have any fans anymore. And certainly not in his former constituency. Grant Lally, whose small local newspaper was the first to expose the former congressman’s fraud, says today: “George Santos threatened me and my staff because we exposed him. He is a corrupt and malicious person who will now go to prison.” Santos hasn’t been seen in Long Island for a long time, reports Lally. Santos is currently trying to make money on the Internet with greeting videos and writes a weekly column for a right-wing extremist local paper in the neighboring district. And what else? Otherwise, people here are glad that the nightmare is over.
