Gaza War: Attack in humanitarian zone – Israel: Hamas headquarters targeted

According to the Israeli military, Hamas’ command center was embedded in the humanitarian zone in the center of the Gaza Strip. Palestinian reports said there were casualties in the airstrike.

According to Palestinian reports, an Israeli attack in the Gaza Strip within a designated humanitarian zone left several people dead. Four people were killed and several injured on the grounds of a clinic in the city of Deir al-Balah, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

According to its own statements, the Israeli army carried out an air attack on a command center of the Islamist Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in the humanitarian zone during the night. Attacks against the State of Israel were planned at the center. “The attack was carried out to eliminate an immediate threat,” the army said in a statement. Among other things, the forces monitored the area from the air to protect the civilian population.

According to Wafa, minors and women were among the dead and injured. The news agency reported an attack on the tents of displaced people. When asked, Israel’s military did not initially comment on the allegation.

“Terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip systematically violate international law and operate within the civilian infrastructure, brutally exploiting the civilian population of the Gaza Strip for their terrorist activities,” the Israeli army statement continued.

The Gaza war was triggered by the worst massacre in Israel’s history, with more than 1,200 deaths, carried out by terrorists from the Islamist Hamas and other extremist groups on October 7.

According to the Hamas-controlled health authority, at least 40,000 people have died in the Palestinian territory since the war began. The authority does not differentiate between civilians and fighters.

At first, none of the information could be independently verified.
