Air traffic: War in the Middle East – Lufthansa extends flight stop

Lufthansa continues to suspend flights to Beirut, Tel Aviv and Tehran. The reason is the tense security situation.

In view of the fighting in the Middle East, Lufthansa is extending its flight stop to Israel and Lebanon. The airline announced in Frankfurt that flights to Tel Aviv would be canceled up to and including October 31st and connections to the Lebanese capital Beirut would be canceled until November 30th.

Flights to Tehran will also remain suspended until October 14th. The core brand Lufthansa Airline had already decided to suspend flights to Tehran up to and including October 26th.

Affected passengers can rebook to a later travel date free of charge or receive a refund of the ticket price. In addition to the core airline, the Lufthansa Group also includes Swiss, Austrian, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings.

Due to the tense security situation, Lufthansa has recently repeatedly extended the flight stop to the Middle East. With the Israeli ground offensive in Lebanon against the Hezbollah militia, the situation in the region is escalating further.
