War in Ukraine: Dead after Russian rocket fire in Odessa region

Russia has been attacking the Odessa region in southern Ukraine with missiles and drones for days. The authorities are again reporting deaths and injuries. A 16-year-old was also killed.

According to authorities, at least four people have been killed in new Russian missile attacks in the Odessa region of southern Ukraine. A house was destroyed in the ballistic missile attack, and a 16-year-old girl was among the dead, the regional governor Oleh Kiper said on the Telegram platform. Ten people were injured, four of them seriously. It was said that a search was underway for those buried under the rubble.

Kiper said civilians lived and worked in the destroyed building. Three people were pulled dead from the rubble and one woman died of her injuries in hospital.

Russia has been waging war against Ukraine for more than two and a half years, which is resisting the invasion with Western support. The Russian military repeatedly attacks the Odessa region with missiles and drones. There have been repeated deaths and injuries in the past few days. The port infrastructure of the Black Sea region is regularly affected. The port is of great importance for Ukraine, including for grain exports.
