NATO: Russian losses of 600,000 soldiers – now the North Koreans should take action

With hundreds of thousands of soldiers wounded or killed in Ukraine, Russia is now relying on the deployment of North Koreans. NATO sees this as an escalation.

According to NATO, Russian President Vladimir Putin is now dependent on support from abroad to continue his war of aggression against Ukraine. “More than 600,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded in Putin’s war, and he is unable to sustain his attack on Ukraine without foreign support,” Secretary General Mark Rutte said in Brussels.

Ukraine demands more help from the West

Rutte confirmed reports that North Korean soldiers were being sent to Russia. North Korean troops were sent to Russia and North Korean military units were stationed in the embattled Russian region of Kursk, Rutte said, after NATO representatives were informed of the relevant information by a South Korean delegation.

The deployment of North Korean troops means a significant escalation of the Russian war against Ukraine. “The deepening military cooperation between Russia and North Korea is a threat to both Indo-Pacific and Euro-Atlantic security,” Rutte said. NATO is monitoring the situation closely.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj recently called for an international reaction to the possible deployment of North Korean soldiers on Russia’s side. “Ukraine will actually be forced to fight North Korea in Europe,” the head of state stated. Without decisive steps from allies, Russian President Vladimir Putin will only be encouraged to commit further “terror,” he warned.
