Trump is renouncing two top politicians in his government team

The US elections were only a few days ago and Donald Trump is already building the team of his new government. One thing is already clear: there will be some surprises.

The two top Republican politicians Mike Pompeo and Nikki Haley will not be part of the future administration of US President-elect Donald Trump. The 78-year-old wrote on his Truth Social platform: “I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join the Trump administration, which is currently under construction. I greatly enjoyed and appreciated being previously with to work with them and would like to thank them for their service to our country.”

Trump recently picked up the pace when it came to putting together his government team. On Friday, he appointed his previous campaign manager, Susan Wiles, as chief of staff in the White House. Wiles is the first woman to hold this important position. Trump is expected to announce further personnel decisions in the coming days.

During the election campaign, Trump spoke of the “best minds” in the country that he wanted to bring to his side for his second term in office. Some names have already been circulating, including Pompeo’s. According to US media, he was considered to be defense minister. Haley, on the other hand, was given rather poor chances. She was once US ambassador to the United Nations under Trump. In the race for the Republican nomination, she then challenged her former boss, which he didn’t like at all.
